LIFETIME LIMITED POWERTRAIN WARRANTY FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Star Auto Group is pleased to offer a Lifetime Limited Powertrain Warranty on all eligible vehicles purchased from Star Buick GMC, Inc., Star Buick GMC, Inc. Cadillac and Star Pre-Owned dealerships. Read about our Lifetime Limited Powertrain Warranty and some of our most frequently asked questions.

Q: What does the Lifetime Limited Powertrain Warranty program cover?
A: The Star Auto Group Lifetime Limited Powertrain Warranty covers parts and labor on all approved engine, transmission and Transfer Case failures including applicable seals and gaskets. (See below for a list of all the covered components and disclosures.)

Q: What do I have to do to keep the Lifetime Limited Powertrain Warranty in effect?
A: Simply maintain the vehicle at any ASE certified service repair shop, in accordance with the Manufacturer’s Recommended Maintenance Schedule. Note that the recommended maintenance must be performed according to the maintenance schedule booklet. If not serviced at one of Star Auto Group’s dealerships, records of service repair will be required.

Q: Where can I find the Manufacturer’s Recommended Maintenance Schedule for my vehicle?
A: See your Maintenance Guide given at the time of delivery or call and speak to a Star Auto Group Service Advisor.

Q: Do I have to have my maintenance work done at Star Auto Group dealerships?
A: It is not necessary to have your maintenance work performed at a Star Auto Group dealership, but the maintenance must be documented.

Q: Do I have to have my warranty work done at Star Auto Group dealerships?
;A: Any warranty work completed will need to be completed at one of Star Auto Group’s dealerships.

Q: What does this warranty cost me?
A: NOTHING! The Lifetime Limited Powertrain Warranty is included with the purchase of eligible vehicles across all Star Auto Group’s dealerships

Q: Can I change my own oil?
A: You may change your own oil, but you must keep date stamped supporting documentation, i.e.: receipts for oil, filters, etc. and will have to keep an oil change log each time an oil change is completed showing that it has been done within the recommended mileage intervals. The date of receipts must be in line with the recommended mileage intervals of your vehicle.

Q: Am I responsible for paying a deductible when making a claim?
A: Yes, there will be $250 deductible on all covered items.

Q: Does my Lifetime Limited Powertrain Warranty contract provide towing?
A: When towing is necessary, your vehicle will be towed to the issuing dealer or the closest affiliated dealer. Towing assistance will be covered up to $75, per occurrence, when your vehicle is towed to the issuing dealer or affiliate.

Q: Is the Lifetime Limited Powertrain Warranty transferrable?
A: No. The Lifetime Limited Powertrain Warranty expires upon transfer to any new owners. It is only good for “Original Owners”.

LIMITED POWERTRAIN COVERAGE


Engine: ;All internal lubricated parts: bearings, pistons, piston pins and rings, valves, valve springs, valve spring retainers and rocker arms; timing chain or timing belt and tensioners, and rocker arms. Timing gear, oil pump, valve guides, followers, valve seats, rocker shafts, push rods, valve lifters, connecting rods, crankshaft and main bearings, camshaft, cam bearings and rocker bushings. Other parts: Water pump, engine mounts, engine cushions, exhaust manifold, intake manifold, front cover, harmonic balancers, flywheel (flexplate), flywheel ring gear, pulleys and eccentric shaft; seals and gaskets. Note: Engine block, cylinder head(s), cylinder sleeves, oil pan and valve covers are covered; only if the damage resulted from the failure of an internal lubricated part, excluding physical damage. Turbo/Supercharger: All internal lubricated parts contained within the turbo/supercharger housing and charger housing are covered; only if the damage resulted from the failure of an internal lubricated part, excluding physical damage.

Transmission (Automatic or Manual): ;All internal lubricated parts; torque converter, pump, drums, reaction carrier, shafts, hubs, gears, shift rails and forks, internal linkage, and bearings. Transmission mounts, vacuum modulator; seals and gaskets. The transmission case, housing and oil pan are covered; only if the damage resulted from the failure of an internal lubricated part.

Transfer Case: All internal lubricated parts and the transfer case housing are covered; only if the damage resulted from the failure of an internal lubricated part, excluding physical damage. Drive Axle: (Front, Rear, 4WD or AWD) All internal lubricated parts contained within the drive axle housing; hub, axle and non-serviceable bearings, drive gears and clutches. Constant velocity joints, universal joints, axle shafts, drive shafts; seals and gaskets. The axle or transaxle housing are covered; only if the damage resulted from the failure of an internal lubricated part, excluding physical damage.

Towing Assistance: ;When towing is necessary, Your Vehicle will be towed to the closest qualified service facility or to any other location requested. Towing Assistance will be covered up to $75 per occurrence; only if Your Vehicle is towed to one of the Star Auto Group dealerships.
